The nomenclature has changed.

The Faculty of Family Planning evolved into the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in 2007.

This reflected the fact that it has been dealing with more than contraception for a long time.

The Diploma in Family Planning (DFFP) became the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH).

It is a very worthwhile qualification in its own right and obviously complements the DRCOG.

Given the overlap in content between the subjects, it makes sense to sit them at the same time of training.

If you are female, you are going to be inundated with requests for family planning and other advice, so the DFSRH qualification makes eminent sense.

DRCOG.

The College expects DRCOG candidates to have a  level of knowledge of family planning comparable to those taking the DFSRH.

MRCOG.

There is no longer a requirement to have attended a fixed number of family planning sessions.

But the subject does come up in the exam, so you cannot ignore it.

The details of training are here.
