For general paediatrics I start with Illustrated Textbook of Paediatrics.

Gynaecology is well covered in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology for the MRCOG and Beyond.

Some of the topics also appear in Reproductive Endocrinology for the MRCOG and Beyond.

Don't forget neonatal resuscitation.

The best thing is to get your brightest paediatric registrar to give you a practical tutorial.

You need to be familiar with the latest advice on when to take the various steps: intubation, cardiac massage.

You need to know the drugs.

You need to know the number of chest compressions to inflations and so on.
